Sausage Dogs Invade Krakow This Weekend

Hundreds of sausage dogs and their owners will march through the centre of Krakow for the city’s 20th annual Dachshund March (Marsz Jamników) on Sunday, September 7.

One again, Radio Krakow is organising the parade, which will proceed from the Barbican to the Main Market Square, starting at 12 noon. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Wieniawa Orchestra and, as usual, many of the four-legged marchers will be wearing cute and outlandish outfits.

All morning before the march, the Main Market Square will host stands offering products and services for pets and their owners, including veterinarians, dog trainers, and animal nutritionists and physiotherapists.

The crowning moment will take place after the parade as the city’s top dachshunds compete for the titles of Queen and King of the march. The candidates will take part in a variety of tests and games and the main stage.

There is more information about the Dachshund March on the Radio Krakow website.
