Coca-Cola Plays Santa Claus to Needy Polish Children at Christmas

Coca-Cola in collaboration with the Polish Humanitarian Organzation (PHO) has launched a Christmas campaign to assist impoverished children in Poland.

Every time someone buys a Coke, Fanta or Sprite from the special Coca-Cola Christmas series of drinks, they have the opportunity to support “Pajacyk” in its work feeding children by sending a code under each bottle cap via SMS or email to the Coca-Cola “Gift of Giving” campaign.

“The need to share with others is especially important at Christmas” said Coca-Cola Poland Services spokesperson, Katarzyna Borucka. Coca-Cola has worked with PHO before during 2002-2003 providing almost 340,000 zloty towards scholarships for underprivileged children at secondary schools in the Malopolska (Capital Krakow) and Swietokrzyskie (Capital Kielce) regions.
Pajacyk is an initiative of PHO that has provided over 5 mln meals to underprivileged children in Poland since its inauguration in 1998.

Hot meals were given to 6,432 children in 162 schools across Poland during 2006-2007 thanks to Pajacyk. PHO is a non-government organzation registered in Poland that works internationally and within Poland on humanitarian aid projects.
