Career Opportunities for All

Students seeking to use their holidays learning new skills and gaining work experience can take part in a careers fair in Krakow this month.

NCS – Non-Corporate Summer – will offer workshops and advice on everything from finding and approaching potential employers around the world, to compiling and presenting a CV. Voluntary and paid posts are explained, as well as special projects such as the European Voluntary Service programmes.

Last year’s NCS event in Warsaw was a huge success, so it will be run this year in Krakow too. There will be open days at the Jagiellonian University (March 14) and University of Economics (March 15).

This year there will be the chance to meet representatives from agencies such as EF Education, Projects Abroad and Student Point. Especially for those thinking of work in Australia, the Bridge Agency will be there. They are the only Polish-Australian company that promotes the Australian system of education and that has headquarters in both countries. It’s a great opportunity for anyone based in Krakow, as the Bridge Agency’s Polish offices are in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin and Łódź.

Although the aims of the event are serious, and the representatives attending will be able to give useful and practical advice, there will also be a holiday atmosphere . Visitors can expect music, candy floss, a giant palm tree, and competitions with exclusive prizes.

It’s a great time for young people to get additional skills and experience under their belts, as business really is booming in Krakow. It’s the number one city in Europe, and the fifth in the world, for outsourcing, and many major international companies are opening bases here. Attending the Non-Corporate Summer events could be the first step on the path towards gaining the edge that makes your CV stand out among the crowd when you approach such companies – and it may even be the route into the career of your dreams. And, for those still undecided about the future, this is a chance to strike out and try something new.
