The long awaited renovation of the Krakow Park will take place this year. New benches and trash cans will be built, with new paths also to be planned. Once the planned works on Mickiewicza Ally are done, the city plans on separating them with a hedge. City officials state that the renovation is long overdo with the park currently looking like a ‘caricature’ of itself. [Gazeta Krakowska]

Fire in the center

Today around 14:00 a fire broke out in a basement on Rakowicka street. Firefighters evacuated the building ,and tram lines up to the Rakowicka cemetery were stopped for a few hours. At the moment there is no new information on what the cause of the fire may have been. [Love Krakow]

Krakow Airport starts year off strong

Krakow’s Balice airport has had its strongest January on record. 303,677 people made their way though the airport in the month, which was a 16% increase from last year. The number of flights has also increased this year, up to 2,770, which was a 4% increase from last year. [Strefa Biznesu]
