My Life: Magda Sroka

This month, we hook up with Magda Sroka, who as director of the Krakow Festival Office, trips the light fantastic with a host of poets, musicians, artists, film-makers and pierogi chefs. She’s a proud Cracovian, and this December (besides preparing an epic Wigilia dinner for her family) she’s busy championing the second incarnation of Boska Komedia (The Divine Comedy), Krakow’s pioneering festival of contemporary theatre.

My Life: Piotr Krasnowolski

This month, we hook up with Piotr Krasnowolski, translator extraordinaire and expert on all things hobbity. Krasnowolski, known to some as Krasnal (dwarf), has acted as interpreter to politicians, professors and princes (those hailing from Great Britain, not Middle Earth, we should hasten to add). Much in demand for his graceful, on the spot translations, and his gallant on-stage manner, Krasnowolski is the owner of HOBBiT, and he labours under the motto “Carpe Diem = work by night!”
