Jagiellonian University in Krakow has started a special M.A. postgraduate program in TransAtlantic studies in the English language at the Institute of American Studies and the Polish Diaspora.
In three semesters students obtain a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Studies with a major in Transatlantic Studies.

What attracts crowds of young tourists to Krakow is obvious: the exotic atmosphere, cheap beer, great fun and good-looking girls, who in 90 percent of cases understand English. There is no need for a better advertisement.

Howard Property Polska Sp. z o.o. has received a building permit to build a 4-star Hilton Garden Inn on ul. Karmelicka, informed Gazeta Wyborcza.
The company also wants to build a Silver Screen Cinemas multiplex and a multi-storied parking garage, which will be designed for 400 vehicles.

Some events celebrating Krakow's 750th anniversary are over, but others are still on tap. Political, military and religious dignitaries from Poland and abroad joined in a gala event at the Slowacki Theater on Tuesday, June 5, to mark the anniversary. It was the halfway point of the 10-day festivities.

In the last three years, 66% of Krakow residents have received a wage increase, reports Gazeta Wyborcza. This is highest number in Poland after Wroclaw, the newspaper reported.
