President Lech Kaczynski has honored dozens of Poles, a German military officer and a Japanese diplomat for saving Jews in Poland before and during World War II.
The president gave medals to 31 of the 53 people chosen for the awards in a ceremony last week at Warsaw's National Opera House, Gazeta Wyborcza daily reported.
