The Tatras, with their famous resort Zakopane, are not the only mountains in Poland.There are many smaller but just as picturesque ranges elsewhere.One of them, Beskid Wyspowy, is only 60 kilometers southeast of Krakow.

Italian architects will design a museum of contemporary art which will be created in the former Schindler?s Factory in Krakow. They won the contest of the Krakow Municipality for best design.The Italians were invited to Krakow to negotiate the arrangement.

City mulls museum in land down under

Krakow natural history museum will be created under Rynek Glowny.
The facility, which will cost around 30 million zloty, will open in 2009. It will feature archeological sites excavated last year. And it will use audiovisual equipment, lasers and holograms to give visitors an idea of how Krakow looked in medieval times.

Krakow?s Natural Museum of the Polish Academy of Sciences currently occupies 3,000 square meters in the city center on ul. Sebastiana. This area is far too small to exhibit all of the museum?s treasures, and so many of the museum?s plant, insect and fossil exhibits have been placed in storage.
