MySpace is looking to expand its website portal to include Polish content, language and features. Rupert Murdoch's media giant News Corp owns and controls MySpace since July 2005. MySpace is looking for content managers and marketing directors to commence work in Krakow. The positions filled will be responsible for enriching MySpace for the Polish market, with pop culture related content. With over 100 mln users worldwide, a quarter of them in Europe, Poland will be the first Eastern European country with its own local content. European countries with local content material include, among many, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Austria and Finland.
MySpace will be Murdoch's third media investment in Poland. The first investment was the outdoor advertising company News Outdoor Poland. In June 2006 News Corp bought up shares in TV Plus, belonging to the Franciscan Order. The TV channel is to commence broadcasting on October 28 in a new format.
