Poland will have next president on 6 August
This Friday, Poland's next president, Bronisław Komorowski, will be officially sworn in. At 10 am, Komorowski will appear before the Sejm (Polish Parliament) in order to swear an oath before the National Assembly. After the national election results were confirmed by the Polish Supreme Court, the Sejm and Senate had only to ratify the high court's decision before Komorowski could be sworn in.
The swearing-in ceremony will be followed by a mass at noon, conducted by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw, Kazimierz Nycz. At 2 pm, the ceremony of handing over the insignia of the Order of the President of the Republic of Poland will take place in the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
