Unemployment (Slightly) Down in Poland

Jobless rate still over 10 percent

The latest figures from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), released on 23 July, indicate that the countrywide unemployment rate has dropped slightly, to 11.6 percent for June, as compared to 11.9 percent for May of this year.

Currently 1.8 million people are registered as unemployed. However, this figure does not include those who are underemployed, and those who are unemployed but not registered as such.
