Controversial Priest on Punk Record

Veteran punk band Apteka (Chemist) has adorned their latest album with a picture of a gun-toting priest. The priest in question is none other than Father Henryk Jankowski, a sometime Solidarity hero whose name has been dragged through the mud in recent years, owing to anti-Semitic remarks, eccentric business ventures and accusations of communist collaboration.
The album, titled Tylko dla (Only for...), presents the priest in a pose reminiscent of Tarantino’s film Pulp Fiction. In what seems like a deft use of photoshop, Father Jankowski lunges across his desk, gun thrust at the viewer.
The band says that not only did they have permission to use the picture of the priest, but moreover that they are warm supporters of the preacher, who they claim is a much maligned and misunderstood figure.
Nevertheless, the group omitted to inform Father Jankowski that they would be arming him with a weapon. At present, no legal action has been taken.
