Young man killed on popular nightlife street in Krakow
It happened this past Sunday at around 11 pm on the corner of ul. Wielopole and Librowszczyzna. A 21-year-old telemarketer from Krakow was walking with three friends when their path crossed with a 19-year-old and another man. The outcome of this meeting left the 21-year-old mortally stabbed, but accounts of the events just prior to the stabbing are conflicting.
Witnesses agree that during a physical altercation between the two men, the suspect took out a knife. The suspect claims he did so in order to frighten the victim, and in an unfortunate turn of events the victim somehow fell on the knife.
The 21-year-old died from a single stab, a fatal blow to the heart. At the time of the murder, the suspect was under the influence of alcohol. A guilty verdict may bring him 25 years in prison.
According to TVP Krakow, the suspect may have known the victim since both men lived on the same street. He has been incarcerated and, in shock, awaits his trial.
