Investment bank to move into Warsaw

By the end of 2010, Warsaw is to have its own branch of the investment bank Morgan Stanley. The office will service clients in Poland and in the region.

The New York City-based financial services firm, technically a bank holding company since September 2008, managed to survive last year's financial crisis. Now it is looking to expand into Central and Eastern Europe.

The Warsaw branch is to be headed by executive director Marcin Socha. Once open, it will become a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. No date for the opening is set yet, as the bank is still waiting for the necessary regulatory approvals.
