Krakow's most anticipated electronic music festival kicks off tonight

After months of anticipation for music lovers in Krakow and around this corner of Europe, the Unsound festival will begin this evening and continue through Sunday, 25 October.

Tonight's opening, set to take place at the Manggha Centre, includes a concert by Polish ambient artist Michał Jacaszek, better known as just Jacaszek with his full band. The artist combines classical with electronic music, making full use of both classical instruments such as cello with programmed beats and a range of sounds in between. Following Jacaszek's performance at 8 pm will be a screening at 9:15 pm of the film Beats of Freedom, a documentary about rock music's relationship with Polish communism.

For more information and a schedule, see our Guide to Unsound as well as the official Unsound website.
