It’s certainly made life easier in the Stare Miasto area by limiting vehicular traffic and it’s a lot more pleasant experience than it used to be when visiting Kraków. Certainly there’s a lot more that could be done to make Kazimierz into a more attractive place but you have to be careful you don’t turn the place into an area solely dedicated to attracting tourists, even though tourists do bring a lot of income into the area. You have to balance the needs of the residents with that of those businesses that rely on the tourist trade for their income.

More sensitive renovation and construction is certainly needed, something along the lines of the listed building and preservation area laws that exist in the UK wouldn’t go amiss either.
