WIFI on the Bus

Have you ever wanted to blog on the bus, but can’t afford a smartphone? Now is your chance – from the beginning of May, some specially upgraded city buses will become mobile WIFI hotspots.

Krakow’s public transport authority (MPK w Krakowie) and ING Bank Śląski have come together to provide 12 WIFI-equipped buses, which will operate on a variety of routes in the city.

The buses will be identifiable by their new, orange paint jobs and the message ‘Tu masz darmowy internet od ING’ (Free internet access from ING is available here). Connect to ‘ING Autobus WIFI’ to use the network.

MPK operates 504 buses in total, so finding yourself on one of the two percent with WIFI will be a rare treat, but the online buses will rotate through a long list of different routes over the two months of programme.

Krakow is one of 12 cities across Poland working with ING Bank to provide WIFI-equipped buses. The programme is a continuation of ING’s WIFI Express marketing campaign, which has already brought free WIFI to selected intercity train carriages.
