New promo campaign of Warsaw in England

The City of Warsaw and easyJet Airline are planning a campaign in England to promote Poland’s capital city, Dziennik newspaper reports. The promotion was initiated by easyJet officials, who are eager to add routes between Warsaw and English cities. The low-fare airline will pay half of the expenses of the promotional campaign.

In about a month, the campaign will begin with advertisements on the easyJet web site encouraging Brits to visit Warsaw. The next stage of the campaign will feature ads in three English cities – London, Bristol and Luton – in daily and weekly newspapers and the London subway. The ads will promote Warsaw as an interesting cultural center with many historic sites worth visiting. Entertainment in Warsaw will not be emphasized.

Warsaw officials say the Polish capital currently is not visible enough in English tourism offerings. They expect that the campaign will attract about 200,000 British tourists annually. Promotional campaigns co-organized by airlines have had a remarkable effect in Krakow, which is the most popular city among the Brits at the moment. Other Polish cities like Gdansk and Wroclaw are also promoted widely in UK.
