A man was stopped with 13 pistols at Krakow’s airport

13 pistols were found in the luggage of a man who was stopped by border guards at the John Paul II Krakow-Balice International Airport.

The man was an Israeli citizen who had purchased the 9 mm weapons in Hungary for himself and his friends, and was planning to return to Tel Aviv via Krakow. According to him, he was unaware that transporting firearms in his luggage requires a permit.

The maximum penalty for such a crime is eight years’ imprisonment. Ultimately, the man was fined 4,200 PLN plus the cost of proceedings and had to forfeit the guns.
