Massive Drug Bust in Krakow

Monday morning, nine people were arrested in Krakow for allegedly trafficking over 18 million złoty of narcotics. The accused are suspected of operating in a “drug gang”, and the warrant was issued by the Krakow Prosecutor General this morning.

Investigator Marek Wełna told Gazeta Wyborcza that the drugs had been produced in other EU countries, and were then smuggled into Poland. During its operations, believed to have taken place between December 2008 and July 2009, the gang allegedly trafficked 15.3 million złoty of ecstasy, 1.5 million złoty of cocaine, 1.4 million złoty of marijuana and just under one million złoty of amphetamines.
