Two Holy Nights

On the evening of 14 and 15 August, 23 churches and monasteries around the city will allow visitors to explore their grounds. The event, called Cracovia Sacra, is a kind of Night of Museums for churches, some of which hold relics that could easily be found in museums.

On both evenings the participating churches will have relics visible that are not normally displayed to visitors. Some of the highlights include the collection of art in the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec, treasured collections in the Bernardine Convent, as well as relics from St. Mary’s Church and the Wawel Cathedral. In addition to the participating churches and monasteries, the Archdiocese Museum and the Old Synagogue will take part.

The night’s events also include choral and classical music concerts.
