Jazz Fest Hits Krakow

Krakow’s Piwnica Pod Baranami is once again the site of the annual Summer Jazz Festival, which began this weekend and will last through 31 July.

Begun in 1996, the Summer Jazz Festival is in its 14th edition now, and brings around 200 artists, both from Poland and abroad, as well as over 30,000 jazz lovers to Krakow. In addition to the Piwnica Pod Baranami club, several concerts will take place in special venues such as the Krakow Philharmonic, the Manggha Centre, and the Krakow Opera.

One of the festival’s highlights includes the “Artists in Residence”
series, taking place 16-20 July, and featuring the NDR Big Band with Maria Schneider, Joe Lovano, Joao Bosco, Nils Landgren, and other stars.
