Truck crashes into home

On Tuesday morning around 8:00 am, a truck in Michałowicach near Krakow crashed into a home on highway number 7. The truck swerved off the road and crashed into the building. The driver and the residents were unharmed. [LoveKrakow]

Sarcophagus renovation at Wawel

The sarcophagi of Anna Jagiellonka and King Zymunt August were opened today at the Wawel Cathedral. A conservation project will start soon on the sarcophagi and last till the end of the year which will cost an estimated 250 thousand PLN. The main aims of the project are to replace main elements with metal to stand the test of time. Representatives hope that the renovation spark renewed interest in academic groups in the sarcophagi at the castle. [LoveKrakow]

Rats in Czyżyny: update

Residents in Czyżyny claim that, even after the city’s attempts to irradiate the rats infesting the Krakow neighborhood, they are still present. City officials are still unable to get in touch with the administrator or owner of the shop causing the infestation. The city attempted to take the matter on and spread traps and poison around the area, but residents have complained that they have had little effect. [Radio Krakow]
