Many Cracovians know the tram stop Basztowa LOT and its namesake, the LOT office in the building by Basztowa 15. After 54 years at the address LOT is planning on moving to a newer office on Stradom Street. The company explains the move stating that the larger influx of tourists has forced them to look for a newer space. The new office will open on May 2nd and will be located on Stradom 7, just between the Wawel castle and Kazimierz. [Love Krakow]

Public transport changes during “Majówka”

On Monday (May 2nd) public transport will run less often. The changes affect four tram and bus lines.

  • Tram lines 7 and 12 and buses 409, 429 and 439 will not run on Monday
  • Tramlines 50 and 52 will run every 10 minutes
  • Bus line 134 will run according to its Saturday timetable on Monday

Hospitals ready to take on pilgrims

On Thursday reports surfaced online that the J. Dietl Specialist Hospital on al. Focha would stop functioning as a hospital during July’s World Youth Day and that a special medical center for pilgrims would take its place. However, the city has denied any of these claims stating that all hospitals would be open as usual and prepared for any extra patients from the event. The city already plans on having five helicopters ready for first responders. [Love Krakow]
