Works on Wrobela street

The city signed an agreement on Wednesday to commission road works on Wrobela Street; the street being one of the main ways for people to travel to Brzegi, the World Youth Day site. However, with the looming date of the event in July comes a rushed deadline. Residents of the area have been pleading with the city for a long time to take action, mainly due to the lack of sidewalk in the area. The more than 450 meter strip will have to be done by June 30th, while no action on Łutnia street which also leads to Brzegi has been mentioned. [Love Krakow]

Zakrzówek back in the city’s hands

City councillors have reached an agreement with the landowners of Zakrzówek Lake. The owner of the land has decided to resign ownership of the land near Saint Jacka Street. The city has regained the land mainly due to a protected animal that inhabits the space: the smooth snake. The land will not be built on and the city in turn will pay a settlement to the developer.
