Man falls into lake

A 20-year-old male was taken to the hospital today after falling off one of the cliffs surrounding the Zakrzowek Lake. He had been drinking and was climbing a ledge when he fell. The man sustained significant injuries to his head, arms, and legs. [Gazeta Krakowska]

Bullets found in bag

A Spanish man traveling to Alicante was arrested at the Krakow Airport on Wednesday after a routine check. Fourteen 9 millimeter cartridges were found in his bag. The man claims he did not know they were in his bag, stating that he came to Krakow solely as a tourist. [Love Krakow]

President of Krakow tells citizens to go on vacation

Five months before World Youth Day the president of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski, urges Krakovians to go on vacation during the event. On Monday we reported that the city plans to close down many roads for the event to avoid traffic; today the city has stated that getting around the city during the event anyway other than on foot will be impossible. No new information has been released concerning which streets will be closed during the July event. [Radio Krakow]
