New highway causes uproar

Plans to build a highway near in Łagiewniki have been met with criticism from residents. The currently green areas would undergo construction from 2017 to 2021. The project is estimated to cost nearly 1.3 billion PLN, with some funding provided by the European Union. The plans for the nearly 400 m segment have led to protests from locals and Krakow residents alike. [Love Krakow]

Accident on road to Katowice

The A4 highway between Krakow and Katowice is blocked after an accident near Trzebina. The segment traveling towards Katowice is obstructed at the moment. Two people are in critical condition, with the traffic not showing any signs of lightening up in the meantime. [Radio Krakow]

Main Train Station ready for World Youth Days

In preparation for World Youth Day, visitors will be able to make use of a special info point for the event. The new info points for pilgrims will be in the ‘old station’ buildings, while new buildings of the main station will have their own separate plans to help ease the influx of people in July. 52 new info points will be created, serving in various languages.
