World Youth Day street works
Close to 30 streets in Krakow will be redone this year, as part of the city’s plan to get the city ready for World Youth Days. Street works will start as soon as the weather becomes milder with the city focusing on the part of the city near Błonia, where the main events will take place. They plan on having all the surrounding streets done by June. World Youth Day starts on July 30th in Krakow. [onet.pl]
High marks for Lesser Poland
The Lesser Poland Voivodeship has received a high ranking from the Fitch Ratings agency. This rating is based on strong investments, minimal debts and high financial competence. Fitch predicts that Lesser Poland will stay strong till 2018 with a predicted operating budget of over 100 million PLN. [wyborcza.pl]
Water works lead to issues
Due to works on modernising the water system, some people will not have water and power for a few hours today. If you live on os. Dywizjonu 303 then from 8:00-13:00 you may experience some issues. Auschwitz officer list delayed
Krakow’s Institute of National Remembrance has delayed the publication of a list of the names of Auschwitz officers. The list of over 8 thousand names was meant to be published last spring, but the group’s verification process has delayed the project. They hope to release the list this year but have not confirmed any date as of yet. [RadioKrakow.pl]
